How to get your pictures noticed

You can get your photos noticed in a number of ways

Image information

• make sure you add a proper summary and description to all images
• most importantly add keywords - these become live links that return all images with the same keywords, and also get found by image searches, both on the site and from external search engines like Google

Use the forums

• there's a special section in the forums called Help needed to identify... in which you can flag up special images that you want help with

Use external expertise

• once you have images on the site it's the ideal way to show them to other people, even if they are not current users
• email the links (either to albums or individual images) to people you know might be able to help, and post links on specialist bulletin boards and mailing lists
• it's also a great way to promote the site and bring new people on board
